SmartMoviq is a desktop application. We designed it to be private by default. This policy explains what we do — and mostly don't — collect.
Your videos never leave your computer
All video processing — transcription, finding clips, reframing, captions, translation and export — happens locally on your device. We do not upload, store, see, or have any access to your footage, audio, transcripts, or finished clips. They stay on your machine.
What we collect
- Nothing, for normal use. The free app works without an account and does not send us your content or personal data.
- License & payment (Pro only). If you buy Pro, payment is handled by our payment provider, Stripe. They process your payment details under their own privacy policy — we never see your card information. Your license key is validated to confirm an active subscription.
Downloaded AI models
The first time you create clips (or translate), the app downloads a small speech/translation model from a public model host. This is a one-time download of software, not a transfer of your data. After that, those features work offline.
Third-party services
We rely on: the payment provider named above (for Pro purchases) and the public model host (for the one-time model download). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking in the app.
Children
SmartMoviq is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
